Noam Chomsky

“It is the most critical time of human history“

Often credited as the founder of modern linguistics, Noam Chomsky is one of the most cited scholars in modern history and has influenced a broad array of academic fields. He is a political theorist, activist and institute Professor of Linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Besides his work in linguistics, Chomsky is internationally recognized as one of the most critically engaged public intellectuals alive today.

He is also an incisive critic of the ideological role of the mainstream corporate mass media, which he claims “manufactures consent” towards the desirability of capitalism and the political powers supportive of it. He is widely recognized as a paradigm shifter who helped spark a major revolution in the human sciences, contributing to the development of a new cognitivist framework for the study of language and the mind.

In addition to his continued scholarly research, he remains a leading critic of United States foreign policy, neoliberalism, contemporary state capitalism, the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, and mainstream news media. His ideas have proved highly significant within the anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist movements but have also drawn criticism, with some accusing Chomsky of anti-Americanism.

He has written more than 100 books, his most recent being “Requiem for the American Dream: The 10 Principles of Concentration of Wealth & Power.”
