Niños Villeda

"It was all because of my mom, she used to take us to my dad's concerts in little baskets. She made me sit on the side of the violins and my brother on the side of the cellos."
-Ana Caridad

In 2008, when the First International Festival of Brilliant Minds, La Ciudad de las Ideas, was inaugurated, two talented siblings, Ana Caridad and Miguel Angel Villeda, went to delight the audience with the music of their violin and cello. They both began playing at the age of five. They participated in the inauguration of the Vasconcelos Library and the homage to Juan Soriano in the main hall of the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico. On one hand, Ana went to Japan and played the violin for the empress. On the other hand, Miguel debuted at the age of seven as the main character in an opera, which was written for a 14-year-old boy, and he also plays the cello. Now, five years later, the Villeda siblings have become young musicians, students of the Programa Orquesta Escuela, and members of the Carlos Chávez Youth Symphony Orchestra. Likewise, they have played in the Symphony Orchestra of Jalisco, in the Symphony Orchestra of Morelia, in the Downtown Festival of Mexico City, and have been invited by Gordon Campbell. These young talents are fellows of the National Fund for Culture and Arts.
