“Nowadays detecting cancer means that something hurts, you have a symptom, it means that it’s probably a cancer that is stage three or four, that is a more aggressive or more advanced cancer where the treatment will be more painful and expensive for everyone. If you detect a cancer in stages one or two, the same treatment can work for you much better.”
Jorge Soto is an entrepreneur and Electronics Engineer from Tec de Monterrey 2009 and graduated from the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University in 2013.
In 2010, Jorge launched the company Citivox in order to help citizens, civil society and governments and institutions to work together to improve their communities.
In July 2013 he co-founded Miroculus in California, a life science company that uses microRNA in the blood stream to identify the presence of different types of diseases like cancer and their stage with one single, non-invasive, accessible and accurate test. For the great potential of this project, he won the 2013 Gifted Citizen Prize of La Ciudad de las Ideas, Puebla.
Soto is Chief Product and Technology Officer at Miroculus, and currently he and his team are working with the German Cancer Institute in clinical trials with breast cancer.
Jorge is also an Endeavor Global entrepreneur, an Ashoka Fellow, MIT TR35 (one from 35 innovators under the age of 35), a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and Global Shaper.
