Héctor Infanzón

“Every place is a sanctuary for music.”

With a solid classical formation and a vast experience in different music genres, Héctor Infanzón is capable of merging both traditional and contemporary rhythms in his unique compositions.

Whether as a composer, sound mixer or soloist, this Mexican has been invited to contribute with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, the Twilight Orchestra (Indonesia), the String Orchestra of the Rockies (Montana, USA) and the Tonku?nstler Orchestra (Vienna).

He has collaborated with directors Fernando Lozano, José Guadalupe Flores, Eduardo Díazmuñoz, José Areán, Avi Ostrowsky, Andrés Orozco Estrada, Román Revueltas, Eduardo Álvarez, Rodrigo Macías, Antonio Lópezrios, Israel Yinon, Benjamín Loeb, Mario Rodríguez Taboada y Francisco Núñez.

Since 2007 he has been sponsored by Yamaha Mexico. In 2013 and 2014 the Government of Campeche and the Delegation of Azcapotzalco organized a festival to commemorate his 35-year career. In 2015 and 2016 he went on tour with his quartet, performing at the most important festivals, stages and clubs in Asia, including venues in cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Hong Kong. His peculiar style was warmly welcomed both by the press and the general public. In 2016 he kicked off the festivities for his 40th anniversary as a musician with a national tour where he showcased all the different formats and genres he has explored over the years.

In 2017 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Mexican Society of Authors and Composers for his outstanding legacy. Today, he’s preparing a new album: a compilation of his quartet’s live sessions, recorded in Hong Kong.
