Nicolás Celis y Gabriela Rodríguez


Nicolás Celis, founder of "Pimienta Films", is a Mexican producer who has earned a reputation for working on original projects with high artistic content and great impact. Among his recent projects is "Desierto" by director Jonás Cuarón, who won the FIPRESCI award at the Toronto International Film Festival. There are also "Soy Nero" (2016) by Rafi Pitts and the documentary "Tempestad" by Tatiana Huezo that premiered at the Berlinale. "Tempestad" was nominated for a Goya award for the best Latin American film. Nicolás also worked with director Amat Escalante on the film "La región salvaje", which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2016 and won the award for best director. In 2018, his Mexican co-production "Pájaros de Verano" by Cristina Gallega and Oscar Ciro Guerra nominee was selected for the opening of the "Quinzaine des Réalisateurs" in Cannes. Recently, his production "Roma" by director Alfonso Cuarón won three statuettes at the Academy Awards®. Currently, Nicolás is in the post-production of Tatiana Huezo's new film, “Noche de fuego” and developing the new project of Amat Escalante, “Estado del Imperio”.

Gabriela is the producer of the film "Roma".  She has more than 14 years of filmmaking experience, having worked on a diverse slate of projects marked by a rich collaboration with acclaimed director Alfonso Cuarón. She is currently running Cuarón’s film production company, "Esperanto Filmoj", in London. In recent years, Rodríguez produced the short film "Aningaaq", directed by Alfonso’s son, Jonás Cuarón. Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Rodríguez began her career as an intern at Alfonso Cuarón’s office in New York City. She was later promoted to assist Cuarón in 2006, playing a pivotal role in the production of the Academy Award-nominated sci-fi drama "Children of Men". Rodríguez subsequently served as associate producer on Cuarón’s Academy Award®-winning box-office hit "Gravity", starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock.
