Axel Kaiser is a lawyer, Master in Investment, Commerce and Arbitration, Master in American Studies and Doktor der Philosophie by the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He is the executive director and co-founder of the Foundation for Progress, one of the most influential classical liberal research centers in Latin America. Since 2016 he holds the Friedrich von Hayek Chair at the Adolfo Ibáñez University in Santiago de Chile. He has written several books, among them: The misery of interventionism: 1929-2008, The fatal ignorance, The Pope and capitalism, and the best seller, The tyranny of equality and populist deception. He has been highlighted as one of the hundred young leaders of Chile by the network of leaders of the Adolfo Ibáñez University and the Saturday Magazine of the newspaper El Mercurio named him one of the hundred successful young people of Chile, as well as by Diario Financiero from the same country . He is the winner of several international awards including the first place in the "Paths of Freedom" contest organized by the Salinas group in Mexico, the first place in the Hayek Essay Contest organized by the Mont Pelerin Society, the first place in the “Freedom Voices" contest of the Cato Institute and the "Book Prize“ of the University of Heidelberg. He is an international lecturer and columnist for El Mercurio and Diario Financiero de Chile.
