Enric is a Spanish marine biologist who has devoted his career to stopping the damage that man has done to marine environments. He received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Barcelona and his doctorate at the Aix-Marseille University, France.
He is also an explorer for National Geographic TV Network, where he investigates and actively notifies progress in ocean conservation. He has written about 100 scientific publications and is widely recognized for supporting the creation of marine reserves.
He has led scientific expeditions in the Mediterranean, the Sea of Cortez, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Sala seeks to influence policy makers in a period marked by environmental degradation.
Likewise, Enric has worked with key organizations on conservation and inspired the creation of the Pacific Remote Islands National Monument in the United States, the Motu Motiro Hiva Marine Park in Chile and Seamounts Marine Managed Area in Costa Rica.
He was professor of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California and Spain's National Council for Scientific Research.
Sala has been recognized in the Davos World Economic Forum as Young Global Leader and won the Blue Ocean Institute Award.
