Deborah was the first Mexican woman to earn a doctorate degree Summa cum Laude in Physics at Stanford University, as well as the first one to obtain diplomas in Philosophy and Theater. She also speaks five languages.
Her efforts to spread science have impacted thousands of young people around the world. She has conducted researches for the Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics Department at Columbia University, the Courant Institute and the New York University. She worked with his advisor, Nobel Laureate Robert Laughlin, in the promotion of science and developed a new method to focus the electromagnetic wave with extreme accuracy in time and space.
The application of this method is useful for a secure transmission of data from one point to another in a practical way.
She has been featured on media, such as the Oprah Magazine and CNN.
She is the Newspaper columnist and founding writer of Crossroads in The Stanford Daily, where she focuses on the impact business have on science and technology. Her most recent essay is entitled Scientific Literacy in the XXI Century.
Currently, she works as a risk analyst in Wall Street and continues to develop videos, articles and public communication programs to spread science to everyone.
