Amir was literally raised on the ocean. His father was the captain of a cruise ship, which travelled throughout the Mediterranean; there, he learned history, geography, art and science. While he was hanging out outside the casinos in Monaco, he developed a passion for mathematical probability calculus. At present, he is a statesman, who has also developed a passion for spreading science. In 1996, he published the acclaimed book: Fermat’s Last Theorem. The story of a math problem, whose resolution started with the Babylonians and ended with Andrew Wiles, who gave his answer in the 1980s. Since then, he has written 13 best sellers published in 32 countries. His latest book, Present at the Creation, is about the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the largest machine ever created, the Large Hadron Collider, which covers 26 km and it is expected to give crucial tests of several theories in physics, including Higgs boson, also known as the “God particle” that basically gives mass to everything.
