Third day CDI, Sunday November 10, 2019

Day 3

Ideasta, the third and last day was full of challenges, learning and changes of opinion, we remind you of the highlights of Sunday, November 10, 2019, the closing day of the XII Festival of bright minds, City of Ideas.

The Festival began with the very interesting and arduous Epic Debate Life vs Choice where Maggy Krell, Gloria Álvarez, Mara Clarke, Robyn Blumner, Toni McFadden, Stephanie Gray, Star Parker and Marta Páramo met in an open dialogue between the decision of yes to abortion and the decision to continue with a pregnancy.

The Epic Discoveries section was opened by the group of dancers of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Siddhartha Mukherjee, spoke of cancer and asked the epic question, if you could predict with a test that you will have cancer, would you do it? Then Javier Santaolalla spoke about the issue of acceleration and collision of particles. In his lecture, astronaut and acquanaut Dave Williams talked about his experiences in space and underwater. Moran Cerf spoke of consciousness, the connections between two brains and the connections between brains and machines. Mariana Lin, an AI language expert talked about how she writes for machines. The architect Benjamín Romano talked about the relationship of structure and stability. Who closed the segment was the Esperanza Azteca Orchestra.

In the section of Epic Future / W-Under 18 Luis Villa Roa a young prodigy pianist left us all amazed. He was followed by Gary Leschinsky, at the age of eleven he invented a watch that helps children identify if they are having an allergy attack. Then came Maanasa Mendu, a 16-year-old who helps to put electricity in communities that do not have access to it. She was followed by Tanmay Bakshi, an artificial intelligence expert. Adhara Pérez continued, a child prodigy who studies industrial engineering at eight years of age. Finally, there was an interview with Daniela Demesa and Marco Graf, two of the young actors in the film Roma. The last presenter was Carl Joshua Ncube, a Zimbabwean comedian who presented an epically funny show.

The Ideastas enjoyed a great variety of food to delight that palate full of local and delicious gastronomic ideas.

Directly from UNESCO (Paris Headquarters) we received an incredible and epic message to continue celebrating our inter-institutional alliance.
